Baby steps

I just called the doctor’s office and made an appointment.

It was kinda weird and awkward as I’ve never been to see any of the doctors there before, and I was trying to ask questions like who was kinda young, someone around my age, which doctors are male or female. It was made weird as the receptionist wasn’t particularly impressed by my questions and I felt like a bit of a dick for asking. But it’s done now.

I texted my brother to tell him this and he called me straight away. He gets annoyed when I don’t tell him the whole story in one text, but he’s pleased I’ve done it.

Fuck. I’ve just done something I’ve been putting off for years. This feels weird. I think this strange feeling is called ‘excitement’? I’m not sure, it’s been a long time since I’ve been excited about anything.
